When Sally meets historian Tom in a cemetery on Tamborine Mountain, it?s an absurd beginning to a friendship that will change everything. She?s there with her elderly grandmother Iris, while Tom is researching a family secret that?s haunted three generations. It?s hardly a typical first meeting, but Nana Iris has never done anything the usual way. As Tom?s research deepens, Sally becomes increasingly involved. As a writer with a love of history, she understands the pull of unfinished lives and unanswered questions. At the same time, Nana Iris begins revealing a secret she?s kept for most of her life, one shaped by wartime choices and a love that could not be denied. Set against the backdrop of Tamborine Mountain, this dual timeline romance weaves together past and present, forbidden love, and connections that endure across time.
